Uber driver crashed into my car

On the 15th of June 2021 a Uber eats driver drove into the back of my vehicle. The driver does not have insurance and caused damage to my car. I took the drivers details with a picture of his drivers license. I also took pictures of the accident and the damage caused to my car. I do have insurance but my excess is R4780 and the damage to my vehicle is only R2370. I had to replace my one back tyre and also my left brake light unit. I kept both the receipts for the repairs I had to pay for. I sent all details to Uber. Uber just says they will help with the police investigation. The accident is considered a "fender bender" so even though I did report the accident to the police and I have a case number... there is NO investigation. To me it seems Uber does not take responsibility for their driver. This cost me money I don't have. Also how can a person drive for Uber and NOT have insurance. Surely this should be a requirement. In short... I had to spent R2370 because a Uber driver drove into my vehicle. The Uber driver also did not report the accident to the police or Uber, I had to do this. So to all the people with cars on the road, be aware that Uber drivers don't have insurance and if something should happen you will be responsible for your own damage.
