Uber does not care about the safety of your money, or you.

I've been using Uber for years now, and there were times when I encounter issues with either the app itself, the driver, or payment issues. I can confidently say that out of all the issues I've had in the past 2 years, uber has only fixed 2 of them. My main issue with the app is how they take random amounts of money from my bank account when I add my card to the app. Yesterday I had an issue where I requested to travel from Northcliff to Waterfall city. The driver took me to Alex, added his own stop on the app, and told me to direct him to Waterfall City from Alex. Uber then went on to deduct almost R400 from my account for a stop I didn't take, and the driver took no accountability. Later that day I requested a trip from Bryanston to Waterfall City, the same driver canceled my trip twice and I was charged twice for that trip. When I got a driver and arrived at my destination, I noticed that Uber has billed me 4 times for one single trip, keeping in mind that the canceled trip amount was not refunded back to me. From that hour onwards, Uber had been taking random amounts of money from my bank account and stated that my trip was never paid for. They stopped debiting my account at 10 pm last night, the 28th of February. This morning I went on my app to see if a rep responded to my issue, and there was nothing, they still proceeded to take money from my account. I called, and there's apparently 'no call line in my area'. I messaged over and over again and no response. I was told that it was an authorization hold, but the amounts have already been deducted. I have R20 in my bank account, from about R450. All thanks to Uber. For years I've been given this automated response of authorization holds but it has never disappeared, those amounts have been deducted 100% with no return. I'm absolutely upset about this, I don't even know how to feel- is Uber really safe? Can I actually trust that Uber can safely add my credit card and not take money from me behind my back?

I don't recommend this app if you're worried about the safety of your credit card details and payment methods.
