Uber Cleaning Fee **** in Cape Town
On Tuesday 22/06/2021 I took an Uber with my daughter from Hadlley Street to Malibu Street in Cape Town as I was taking her to Créche. The fare was R15 because I had a discount but I got charged an additional R478. I contacted @Uber support and was informed that the driver submitted a cleaning claim because I had left the car dirty. According to the cleaning policy fee, you are charged if you vomit, spill, urinate, are bleeding, or leave any bodily fluids in the car to the extent that the driver may need cleaning services.
The trip was probably less than 12 mins, I only had my phone in my hands and my daughter's backpack so neither of us vomited or ate or drank in the car. The only exchange of words I had with the driver (Robert) was "Hi" when we got into the car, then "I'm coming back now" when I got off to drop my daughter and "Bye, have a great day" when he dropped me off. After finding out about the claim from Uber support, I tried calling the driver through your app because obviously he made a mistake and he can clear this up. He answered the first time and he said I should call him back in 10mins, I tried a couple of times and he is never answered but instead, I got a message from Uber that the driver has reported that I have made inappropriate post-trip contact with him which a violation of Uber policies. Uber is favoring their drivers over their customers instead of trying to resolve my issue, I've been accused twice by this driver and in response, I'm sent scripts by Uber Support. Uber is very much aware of this **** that their drivers are pulling on their clients but from the cases on the internet and they mostly take the drivers' side. The **** is done globally it's called "Vomit *****" and it's been happening for a while.
I literally had to ask them to send me proof of this alleged mess and then they send me a picture of a whitish car with bits of brownish thing with a wet seat and I'm still not sure what it's meant to be. The car I took a trip in was a Dark Grey Nissan Almera so there was no thorough investigation done at all and they are no willing to assist at all. It seems I'm writing to a bot rather than a human being who has some grey matter.
