Uber app forces you to pay for Uber Pass
No stars.
Uber lures you in with a free month of Uber Pass and claims you can unsubscribe at any point. They are aware that their app malfunctions and then doesn't allow you to unsubscribe. Itried repeatedly to unsubscribe but the app wouldn't let me. I was then billed for Uber Pass. I was subsequently told by Uber "customer service" that I have to delete and reinstall the app to remove the malfunction. Why is this not explained to customers prior to being billed when it is a known Uber app problem?
I have contacted their in-app support over 10 times with all agents providing the same scripted response which doens't address the issue. I've contacted Uber on instagram, I've contacted Uber, Uber_support and Uber_RSA on twitter with no resolution and also no response, I've phoned and spoken to call centre agents and demanded a manager who "escalated" my issue, promising a response within 3 hrs, with no response in 4 days. I have spent 35 minutes on a call to customer service with my request being to speak to a manager, who I was **** to and told was "in a meeting for 1-2hrs", in total this was a 45minutes call where I was eventually put through to the manager who told me that he cannot help me (although this was the call centre support for refunds) that Uber Pass is only contactable through the Uber app. That they have no other way of contacting that team than through the app, the same way customers do, where I received no resolution to my issue.
I was told YET AGAIN that my issue is being escalated, after requesting numerous times for a manager to even respond to me.
How does a customer speak to anyone who isn't a contracted third party call centre in India that cannot handle or resolve Uber customer issues? Uber did not allow me to unsubscribe so effectively took my money without my consent and it has been 7 days of phoning, messaging, and and "being escalated", for hours with no resolution.
This happens to thousands of customers who have no way to actually get through to Uber and instead rather get palmed off myevery single customer service agent because they don't have the authority to help customers.
Uber claims you get priority support and can cancel at any time, these are both untrue.
Uber this is utterly disgraceful.
