Uber and lost items

My daughter forgot her cellphone in an Uber. She contacted Uber to ask them for the cell number of the driver to try and arrange a return of the phone. They refused. She went to their offices in Menlyn where they were even less helpful. The same occurred to my son on Taxify and he got his cellphone back on the same day.
