When I asked the driver why the price I originally booked the ride for had almost gone up 50% upon reaching my destination, he said it was normal practice. When asked what happens to people paying with cash and not having the extra money, he said they'll recoup the rest on their next ride. Very good business practice, I dare say (sarcasm screaming out at you, UBER)
