Treated like a ******** by Uber

I have been a loyal user of both Uber and Uber Eats for several years without any prior issues, particularly regarding the use of my credit card as a payment method. However, a few months ago, I observed that my credit card was no longer accepted on your platform. I immediately contacted my bank, who confirmed that no restrictions or blocks had been placed on the card, and that it remains fully operational.

Subsequently, I engaged with Uber’s support team and was assisted by an individual named Mohammed, who advised that my card was removed due to the detection of alleged *****ulent activity and that it had been blocked as a payment method pending an ongoing internal investigation.

I wish to raise the following concerns:

1. Right to Notification: Was I not entitled to be informed that such activity had allegedly been detected on my account? Transparency in such matters is not only courteous but a fundamental consumer right.

2. Presumption of Innocence: Accusing a customer of *****—explicitly or implicitly—is a serious matter. Such action implies misconduct and places the burden of suspicion on the user without due process. Am I not to be presumed innocent until proven otherwise?

3. Due Process and Fair Treatment: It appears that Uber has assumed the role of investigator, judge, and jury, implementing punitive measures without notifying the user of the nature of the alleged infraction or providing an opportunity to respond. This is highly irregular and arguably unjust.

I find this approach unacceptable and contrary to the principles of fair consumer treatment. As such, I will be discontinuing my use of Uber services with immediate effect. Fortunately, alternative platforms such as Wanatu now exist, offering customers both respect and choice.

Kindly take this as formal feedback regarding your customer service practices. I trust you will review your policies to ensure that no other loyal user is subjected to similar treatment in the future.
