SURGE PRICES
<p>I had a gig so i did a price estimate on my uber app and saw the price and thought it would be cheaper to take an uber than a car ( as uber ad's suggest) When at the gig, I entered my home address and the same price that came up before, came up again and I got the uber home. Upon arrival the uber driver says the bill is double the price i saw when confirming. I did a price estimate today again before writing this report and it is giving me the lower price that I saw when I confirmed the pick up. When asking the uber driver how is this possible that the price is so much higher, he mentions to me something called 'PRICE SURGE' saying due to it being Durban July Weekend or ' a busy time' the price increases. I have no problem with price increases at a busy time however I need to see the price before confirming,not to see the higher price upon arrival. What if i didnt have the money. Was the driver gonna take my phone? Any way, upon arrival I didnt have the cash and the uber driver had to drive me to the nearest atm which was not that near anyway.</p> <p>Please guys tell us the correct prices before we confirm. Do not surge prices after we confirm, its *********.</p> <p> I HAVE SCREENSHOTS OF MY INITIAL QUOTE BEFORE CONFIRMING BECAUSE I SENT IT TO A FRIEND AND I HAVE THE EMAIL FROM YOU GUYS OF HOW MUCH I WAS CHARGED.</p> <p>WHY NOT TELL ME THE HIGHER PRICE UPFRONT?? UBER CANNOT BE TRUSTED AS IT HAPPENED ON TWO OCCASIONS TO ME.</p>
