Shocking lack of support from Uber after road accident caused by their driver!!

I am extremely disappointed in Uber. Last week I was in an accident with a motorbike that was clearly doing an Uber Eats delivery - complete with the branded delivery bag. The driver crashed into my car, then refused to provide any personal or insurance information. I reported the incident to Uber - who I initially had such trouble getting hold of - providing them with the license plate number, the date and time and photographic evidence of the Uber Eats bag on the bike. Yet Uber has since come back saying that the person is not registered with them and that they won't take any responsibility.

This is unacceptable. How is it possible that someone is out on the road wearing your brand, carrying your delivery equipment, and using your platform - but you won't take accountability when something goes wrong?

It's deeply concerning that Uber has no transparent process for members of the public to report accidents or claim for damages caused by their contractors. This kind of avoidance shows a complete lack of responsibility and respect for road users in South Africa.

If this is how Uber handles accidents with innocent third parties, I fear for anyone else in a similar situation.
