Price adjustments after the trip
I have been making use of Bolt and Uber for over 2 years now to travel to and from work on a daily basis, whilst Bolt is often less reliable and their vehicles aren't always in the best condition I've never experienced a single issue with them where payments for trips debited directly from my bank account is concerned. What is quoted on booking a ride is what is debited from my account, unless I tip the driver which I of course know that an adjustment will be made. Not so with Uber. I am a Uber One client which means I pay an additional R50 per month for promotions etc. Uber has a wait and save option which I frequently make use of which in theory means I pay less for a trip if I'm willing to wait between 10 and 20 minutes longer for a driver. That's all still good and well but these drivers will opt to take the longest route with the most traffic despite my giving them alternative routes, as a result adjustments are made and I am charged as much as R52 extra per trip which is immediately debited from my account. I don't believe it's fair that I should pay extra if the price quoted originally is slightly less than what Bolt charges only to be charged more afterwards. I literally have to lodge a complaint with customer support every single day just to get my money back. I don't have a car of my own, using these services is my only option, but to blatantly be abused like this when I already spend so much every day is unacceptable. I'm more than willing to pay the quoted price, but the constant adjustments? I'm sorry but I don't agree with that.
