Overcharging on fares. System glitching
My experience with Uber started well. I was happy with the pricing and vehicle condition overall.
In the past 2 weeks, I have been seeing extra charges on my bank card that did not match up to my choices.
Their trick seems to be that they charge you for the ride but then suddenly the app changes the information and you are forced to choose another ride due to drivers not being available. Or you choose a lady driver and the order is accepted, but suddenly you are told that the ladies are all busy and we need to choose another ride.
The other day, my lady driver arrived after being told she was not available. I asked her what the charges were and she confirmed the R23 for the short trip that I was making. Later that evening the charge was R63. This has happened twice.
Today, I booked a ride, was charged the R29 fee and I just closed my laptop lid to go back to my office to pack up and get ready for my driver. I opened my laptop lid (which I have set in my system to "do nothing" if I close the lid) only to find that my ride had disappeared. I ordered another ride. Still R29. I get home only to be charged a further R10 for cancelling my ride!
What is happening with Uber!
