Overcharged by almost R1000 and Uber Support is totally unhelpful

I booked a trip from Lanseria to my home in Wilgeheuwel which showed an amount of R142.00. The driver picked me up and 15 minutes into the trip he realized the drop off was incorrect. I had requested my home adress but suddenly he was driving to Menlyn shopping centre. He pulled over and " rectified" the route and turned around. I then noticed on the App that a charge of R927.00 was showing for my trip. The driver reassured me that it would be sorted out very easily. Once home the App now showed that in addition there was now also a tip of R150 which I certainly did not do. I also never rated him as I was waiting to first see that the charges were rectified - I then noticed that he was given a 5 star rating - Which i never did!!!!

The trip receipt shows a ridiculously long trip of 76 kms and 1 hour 26 minutes when in fact it should have been 30 minutes but ended up being 45 minutes because of the incorrect route, which was in no way my fault. My trip ended at 11h14 at my home when I exited the vehicle, but I was charged untill 11h53 travelling a further 50 odd kilometres.

Uber support is useless, I get generic replies stating that this was my trip and this was the charge. Every time I get a reply and I repeat my problem it takes around 18 hours for them to give me the same answer. There is no way to contact them directly, you can only communicate through the App. Its been 4 days and I have gotten nowhere! Imagine being charged over R1000 for a 20km trip in an Uber Go, the cheapest choice of vehicle. I believe the driver was extremely dishonest but Uber themselves take no responsibility.
