Lost item on an uber ride

Last week Thursday, my daughter forgot my jacket on a ride and immedietly when i realised i logged on to the app and i managed to get connected to the driver. When he answered i managed to tell him that an item was left behind just now on his last trip before he told me that he was currently on a trip and hung up on me. I then logged back on to the app and stated that i could not get ahold of the driver,and i asked for assistance. They then assured that they would try and get ahold of the driver for me within 24 hours. Less than 24 hours, i was told that they also could not get ahold of the driver and i should log on to support to get assistance from law enforcement. Which i am still battling with cause the uber support,keeps on taking me from pillar to post. I have tried reaching out to them and its been over a week now and the responses have stopped completly and i still dont have my jacket. After calling they're customer care line i was informed that,there is nothing they can do on their side and i should go to the police and open a case
