Lost an item and Uber refused to connect me to the driver

I forgot my car keys in the Uber that I used. Once I had seen that my keys were missing I retraced my steps and realised that I left them in the Uber. I contacted Uber who advised that I needed to wait 24 hours. And I wasn't allowed to receive the drivers number etc etc. The option where you can contact the driver didn't work and I wasn't able to make contact. the communication after that sounded like it was automated, I would ask relevant question but would received the exact same answers back. Two days later and I have still not been able to make contact, the last automated response I received said I should contact my law enforcement officers, like how can I contact them if I don't have the info. as much as we love uber I just feel this is unacceptable. they then went on to say that it they are not reliable to stuff left in an Uber car, I never asked them to take responsibility, all I need is a contact number of the driver so I can find out if he has my car and house keys.
