I want refund

On the 17th December I used Uber and the payment was reserved by the Bank. Yesterday on the 1st at night I tried to book UBER and they charged me for the trip of the 17th and I was left stranded because that was my last money in the bank. If the bank did not release the money to Uber why didn't they call me so I can sort it out with my bank. Again Uber is not user friendly in terms of reporting such misconduct.
