Driver takes the long way round

<p>I requested an Uber on Tuesday night to take me from Northwold in Johannesburg to Wanderers. The fair estimate said between R134 and R158 for a 17.6km trip. The driver however took a much longer route of 28.8km, which allowed him to charge me R255. Traffic was definately not the reason for the alternative route as it was 10 o'clock at night. And when I asked him why we arent following the route on the app he said this way was quicker! It wasnt. He even asked when I first got into the car if I had checked the fair estimate, when I said I did he said that people are always complaining that the prices are more than the estimate - obviously because he is taking the long way round. </p> <p>Very dissapointed - but happy to see there is an alternative to Uber on the market now.</p>
