Don’t use Uber’s cash payment option

Uber can add common ******* to the long list of ******** activity of their drivers in South Africa. After settling my trip in cash, I got email from Uber informing me that I didn’t settle the amount in full. I actually paid more than the trip costs and in fact had to pay again the next day when I used the app as the previous trip was still unpaid. If you’re reading this, please use the cash payment option with caution, as you have no proof (as you would with credit card settlements) that the cash you hand to the driver brings the transaction to a close. Their thieving drivers can simply pocket the cash and say you didn’t pay, and Uber’s customer care will side with them. I can’t tell you how it thrills me when their drivers are fined for not having permits. Thieving *******s!
