Don't forget to check for your wallet when using Uber.

Just be careful of leaving your wallet absent mindedly like I did. This happened over December just as the holidays started: Took an Uber home from a restaurant in Midrand on the 8th December 2022 9:30pm No issues until I realised that my wallet was missing 30 minutes later! Was wearing these small pocket jeans with shallow pockets which is why I think my wallet fell out. Called the owner of the restaurant who I knew personally just to check if I left it there. Also used Uber app to call the driver of the situation, but it was some 3rd party thing that just sent a voicemail. I was in anguish! To cut it short, the Uber driver came to my place around 11:00am the next day with my wallet. I was elated at first but checked immediately and to find to my half-expected horror that all my money (over R2000) missing! Driver of course act so innocently and stated he only found it an hour ago when cleaning his car and his cellphone was conveniently off due to low battery. Had the cheek to suggest it might of being the other passengers he gave lifts to that night! Unbelievable! There is a snowball's chance in hell that the money would be recovered... ruined the holidays as that was the money for entertainment purposes and my whole family was so upset and devastated. Yes I should have been careful and now am, but just make sure you have everything before getting out your Uber lift.
