Currency conversion fees for Uber rides?
I used Uber in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth in the last few weeks. Each time I was charged for the rides by Uber, Nedbank charged my credit card an additional international currency conversion fee. <br> <br> In order for Uber to operate legally in South Africa, shouldn't they have a local bank account where our payments go? I searched on the Uber website for 'currency conversion fee' and nothing comes up. <br> <br> If Uber has a local account, is Nedbank charging additional fees they are not supposed to?<br> <br> Did anyone else have the similar issue, with Nedbank as well as other South African banks?
