Bad Uber experience
I've had a bad experience with Uber SA. Recently a friend of mine booked a trip for myself to be dropped at home. I forgot an item in the car and asked my friend to log a lost item request with them. I asked my friend if he could contact the driver or provide myself with contact information so that I may attempt to arrange a meeting with him to get my item. My friend managed to find the driver's contact info which provided him an international nr which I cannot say would be associated with his driver profile. My friend attempted to take it further by logging a complaint only to be met with a response which says that the passenger takes full responsibility for any items lost. I was highly upset as I had the same experience with bolt where I booked a trip for my friend to his home where he also lost an item. I was able to get contact information from the app which provided me with a contact nr only to be met with a similar response where the nr provided was not the driver's contact nr. I was then able to lay a complaint with bolt who promptly provided me with the driver's actual contact nr and advised that the driver giving false information goes against their driver ethics code leading them to suspend his driving app. I responded to them to say that I did not want the driver to be suspended but I do understand the morality of the story because if anything should happen, the driver should be able to be contacted. With this being said. The driver himself contacted me later during that day where I could arrange for him to meet with my friend to return his item. My friend was quite pleased with this response and even went so far as to compensate him for the inconvenience caused. Is there anything that can be done here because I feel that the customer service point needs more to be desired.
