Ubereats not knowing their own policies and not responding to the query.
I ordered something on the 5th December and then cancelled it. My query was as follows: Share details:: Order on the 5th December from Philly Cheesesteak Co, Bromhof 3 items for R 0,00 • Canceled on 05 Dec at 14:01 . I have been charged $11.16 from my paypal and I cancelled this order. I clicked unauthorised on Paypal after the amount was taken and now I am unable to use paypal as a payment method even though I have checked with Paypal that it is active again as of the 7th of December. I would also like to find out how to get the payment method back to use it again? I got a response from Ubereats not even responding to what I asked. This is what they responded. "Hi Lu-Ann, Sorry to hear about your experience, but this order isn’t eligible for a refund as it was placed more than 48 hours ago. Please let us know within 48 hours if you have any similar issues with a future order. Thanks for understanding." This is the only response I get even after saying this was not the query and giving them their own website document that says the below: Your documentation also says @When you place an Uber Eats order, it creates an “authorization hold”. Authorization holds apply only to those paying with a credit or debit card. Authorization holds are a way for us to confirm your funds can go through successfully. These are not payment charges. Authorization holds are temporary and the pending line transaction on your bank statement will disappear after a few days. If you cancelled an order and still see this authorization hold, the refund may also take 3-10 days to process." as per https://help.uber.com/ubereats/restaurants/article/authorization-holds---faq-?nodeId=2abc10e9-7c91-46e5-afb0-39ee3b463ff9" Very disappointing from them and I would recommend that nobody works or uses them as they don't seem to know their own policies.
