Ubereats misses the mark with shared deliveries.
Uber has decided that they will unilaterally implement a shared delivery service on Ubereats. They try to pass this off as a saving to the consumer. There is no option to choose not to share the delivery and to pay the full delivery fee. Our orders now arrive almost half an hour AFTER the latest delivery time shown, they are almost always cold, mushed up and pretty much a waste of money. When i complained to Ubereats i was told firstly that the shared deliveries were on the same route and secondly that the delay in delivery came from the restaurant. This was utter *******. The shared delivery went in the complete opposite direct from that in which i live - they seem to have forgotten that we can track this, and when they said the restaurant was asking for time, the delivery had already been picked up and was on its way to the far side of the area. What they are doing is reducing employment opportunities by employing less staff (and therefore paying fewer benefits) at the expense of the consumer (and the employment levels in the country). I also see that the vehicle shown in the app that is supposed to be doing the delivery (and the person who is supposed to be picking up the order) is very rarely the vehicle that arrives. The difference is always the make, registration number and most of all, it will show as a car (and then the make is wrong) when it is a motorbike or visa versa. There is no control or security here. When we order a meal, we want that meal. Offering refunds and untrue excuses is not what we ordered.
