UberEats I want my money back/
Uber Eats: I want my money back
On Monday, I ordered food through the Uber Eats app. The order was for almost R400, and it was dinner for my children.
The food never arrived.
I immediately lodged a complaint with Uber Eats and explained that I was home the entire time. No driver arrived at my house. No one called me. No one contacted me to say they were outside or that they could not find me.
Yet I was told that the driver had apparently delivered the food and that I was not available.
This is extremely frustrating and, frankly, unacceptable.
I order from Uber Eats almost every day. I also use Uber for e-hailing regularly. In all this time, I have never had a situation where I simply “didn’t come out” to collect an order, nor have I made a habit of cancelling orders.
So why would I suddenly do this now, especially when I had ordered almost R400 worth of food for my children?
I am a regular customer. My ordering history should show that. There is absolutely no reason for me to suddenly behave differently and then claim that my food never arrived.
I did not receive my food. I was home. Nobody came to my door. I stay in a complex. They are lights. The images taken by the driver are in a dark place. It'simpossible/
I paid for a service that was not delivered, and I expect Uber Eats to take responsibility and refund my money in full.
What makes this even more disappointing is the fact that I have been a loyal customer who uses the platform constantly.
I am angry about this, and I am not prepared to simply accept a response saying that the driver marked the order as delivered.
Marking an order as delivered does not mean the customer received it.
Uber Eats, I want my R400 refunded and I want an explanation of what actually happened to my order.
