UberEats allows their drivers to *****
Series of events: On Sunday (4 June 2023), I had my wedding day. We had a very small intimate wedding consisting of 30 people. My plan was to order fresh sushi for the 30 guest. I tried personally placing the order but my order was not going through. I then asked a friend to help me place the order as time was running out quickly. She then placed the order with Nuri Sushi via the Uber Eats App. Order was accepted and we then waited patiently. Order was ready and driver (Patrick) was assigned. Driver collected and then soon was on way to deliver. When the status showed that driver had arrived, my friend went outside to collect but the driver was nowhere to be seen. She then messaged to find out where he was as she does not see him. He rep**** asking where the correct location is. She gave him the location again and even sent him GPS directions. He then rudely asked what kind of tip she would give him in order to deliver the food to the correct location. When she did not answer him and insisted that the driver bring the food asap because all wedding guests were hungry, he proceeded to block my friend from contacting him any further. We then sent out 2 of the male guest to take a drive and see if they could find the driver thinking he might still be driving around looking for the venue we were at. The status then changed to "Food Delivered". So the 2 male guests decided to take a drive directly to Nuri Sushi where we ordered the food from thinking he might have gone back. We were Willing to accept cold sushi at this point. Management at Nuri Sushi then told the 2 guests that the driver did not return with the food ordered so there was no way they could help us. We were instructed to contact Uber Eats as this whole mess revolved around the driver not going to the right address and then disappearing with he food.
I have screenshot of all communication via my friend and Uber Driver, as well as uninterested, unhelpful communication from Uber Eats helpdesk. Thanks to Patrick the Uber Eats driver, not only were my wedding guest the meal they were promised, but I paid for food which I did not receive. Also UberEats makes it so difficult to contact them or speak to anyone, so drivers seem to get away with ******** behavior like this all the time.
