Uber Eats refund for transaction cancelled by restaurant

An order was cancelled by the restaurant and we had to re-order. But both payments went through. They were however indicated as "pending", "uncleared" in our bank account . It was our understanding that one would be reversed and only one would remain to be cleared. As this is the way other cancelled transactions work. However, by the time the transaction was cleared, both payments went trough. When querying this with Uber we were just told that the transaction was not liable for a refund as it was longer than 48 hours after the order. Even after again explaining to Uber eats what happened, they just insist that there is no refund would be given. This is just unacceptable. So we paid for an order that the restaurant cancelled and Uber received payment for, but that we did not receive.
