UBER-EATS OR UBER-****?
I can't anymore hey, I really can't. It's the *********ness of it all. Why must I leave the deal feeling **** to, feeling as though I have been *****ed. This is one of many dreadful ordeals, please hear me out...
So it's wednesday, I am enjoying House of Cards on Netflix, naturally I begin to crave BBQ ribs. The comfort I find myself in beckons the use of the UBEREATS app that I have grown to despise over the years. It's an abusive relationship I find myself trapped in due to a lack of competitive alternatives.
To my luck, on promotion, buy 1 get 1 free 500g ribs. Me being the 'vraat' that I am, I happily purchase the ungodly quantity of ribs. The cost of the meal was R250. I understand that uber rightfully applies a mark up on the restaurants' prices (restaurant price R200), I accept this massive mark up thinking "Well, its convenient plus I am getting a whole free portion as well" Time to check out Service fee R30 COVID FEE (What the hell is this ****!)R20 Total R300 A whole 50% markup on selling price of restaurant! Then I have to face the emotional ********* of having to pay the driver employed by UBEREATS The delivery company profits more than the actual restaurant, this is the world we live in!
The reason this upsets me, at the point of checkout, you are so invested in the purchase you end up paying. It's as though you are conned into the transaction.
A little more respect for the consumer would be appreciated, come on people.
