Uber eats non delivery and waiting time from order to delivery

Ordered food at 9pm , food never arrived, the next day I complain only for them to say food was left in the street at 11:20pm.What is the expected turn around time from when you order food with uber eats ,surely I can't now not sleep. Whats the point of the app if you cant communicate to the customer.
