UBER EATS ****

Formal Complaint Regarding *****ulent Delivery and Lack of Resolution – Order on 27 July 2025 To: Uber Eats South Africa Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding *****ulent Delivery and Lack of Resolution – Order on 27 July 2025 Dear Uber Eats Customer Support,

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a highly unsatisfactory and distressing experience I had using your service on Sunday, 27th July 2025.

I placed an order via the Uber Eats app for a KFC meal. The delivery was assigned to a driver named Frank. At 16:45pm the driver initiated a chat message claiming he had arrived. However, we had full visibility of our roadway through CCTV surveillance, which covers approximately 100 meters — a one-way-in, one-way-out driveway. There was no sign of any delivery vehicle or individual in the vicinity.

As we were in the process of responding to the driver to indicate he was not at our location, we were abruptly notified via the app that the order had been “delivered.” Attempts to contact the driver via the provided number went straight to voicemail. We immediately contacted the KFC branch, who advised us to report the issue directly to Uber Eats.

We proceeded to do so. After explaining the situation to the Uber Eats support agent, we were told she would attempt to contact the driver. After a wait of almost two minutes, she confirmed that the driver's number was unreachable and advised us to lodge a complaint through the app's Help section. We did so accordingly.

To our dismay, the complaint was closed with a generic response stating the order had been delivered. Uber then sent us a photo supposedly proving delivery — it showed the meal placed on a floor that is neither near our gate nor within 100 meters of our property. The original in-app chat with the driver has since disappeared. On the app we had selected for a pin number to be requested upon delivery, how did the driver deliver without the identification pin, Following this, we ran the driver’s number through the Truecaller app and were alarmed to discover 190 spam reports, many with identical complaints — stating that this same delivery **** had been pulled by this individual. We also came across multiple TikTok and social media posts exposing what appears to be a widespread **** involving Uber Eats drivers marking orders as delivered and leaving them in random locations — or not delivering them at all.He had ****** our meal, that is theft. I am extremely disappointed and outraged by this incident and the lack of proper investigation or accountability. Not only have I suffered a financial loss of R388.00, but the handling of the situation by Uber Eats has left me with no confidence in your platform. The dismissive attitude towards customers, despite clear evidence and patterns of ***** by specific drivers, is unacceptable.

This raises serious questions about Uber Eats' vetting process, especially regarding foreign national drivers, and the effectiveness of your internal complaint resolution mechanisms. I urge your team to conduct a full investigation, not only into this incident but also into the larger pattern of ***** connected to this driver and others like him.

This message is also being shared publicly to warn others and encourage accountability. I strongly recommend that law enforcement and consumer protection authorities, such as General Mkwa****’s office, investigate Uber Eats’ practices.

Attached is the screen shot of the drivers number used. Sincerely, disgusted client

Post is too create awareness, so folks don't get ****med, please be cautious as I've always been, Uber not refunding.
