UBER EATS DRIVER THEFT
Today I ordered takeaways from Uber Eats and paid the driver R150 cash for an order for R143.80. He checked the money, then handed me the bag of food, and left. Uber eats sent me an email notification saying - "Your driver reported that you didn’t pay the full amount. -ZAR 143.80 will be due on your next trip." Now I see that this is a common complaint on Hellopeter., which I should have checked before I used them. How can Uber eats let the drivers get away with such theft? I shall not be using them again, unless they sort this out immediately.

04 Aug 2021, 21:55Complaints to uber eats are ignored, and I got the same response that other complaints on helopeter got, which blames us, the customer for their driver's theft.
Their response says "Your account is currently in arrears as you have missed a cash payment from a previous order.
As this is the first time it has happened, we've cleared your arrears as a sign of goodwill. Please note that this is a one time exception, and should this happen again, you would need to clear your arrears yourself via credit or debit card.
In future, please make sure you pay the correct amount of cash, to ensure your account doesn't have an outstanding balance."
What a cheek! They can shove their goodwill. This is so insulting, and I will definitely NOT be using them again.
