Uber Eats driver stole my food, demanded extra money & Uber Eats is covering it up

Uber Eats Bloemfontein, this is beyond unacceptable — this is outright theft.

On 31 January, I placed an order on Uber Eats. The driver went to the wrong location because the house number was missing initially. I immediately corrected this in the app and called the driver to tell him he was at the wrong address.

Instead of doing his job and checking the app, the driver asked me to send my location on WhatsApp. After receiving the correct location, he claimed it was 3km away and then demanded extra money to deliver the food — money that was never agreed to and never owed, since I already paid for food and delivery. When I refused to be ******ed, the driver hung up, never delivered the food, and then *****ulently marked the order as “Delivered.” No food was delivered. The driver kept the food. My money was taken.

I then had to place a second order just to eat, with a different driver. Now let’s talk about Uber Eats “support”: • On 31 January, I was told I would receive a refund within 48 hours • No refund came • On Wednesday, 4 February, support suddenly changed the story and told me to download the app and request a refund there • Since then, nothing — no refund, no follow-up, no accountability

So to be clear: • A driver demanded extra money • Kept my food • Marked the order as delivered • And Uber Eats has done nothing about it This is not a “delivery issue.” This is a broken system that allows drivers to ***** and customers to be ignored. Uber Eats is currently holding money for a service that was never delivered while protecting a driver who abused the platform.

I am demanding: • An immediate refund • Disciplinary action against the driver • A real response — not automated excuses If this is how Uber Eats operates, then customers deserve to know. Right now, this feels less like customer service and more like organized ****ming enabled by silence.
