Uber eats double charges customers on purpose.
It seems that when you place an order on Uber Eats, you're charged twice for the same amount as your purchase. When you query the second charge, you're told to wait 3 to 10 working days for a refund. This effectively means that every time you use Uber Eats, you may have to wait up to 10 working days to be refunded for an unauthorized duplicate charge.
In my case, it has now been over 10 days, and Uber Eats has still not reversed the second charge. Every time I contact them, I’m told to keep waiting, with no meaningful updates or further assistance.
To summarize: if you order food worth R300 on Uber Eats, be prepared to be charged R600 and don’t expect to see that extra R300 again. That’s the situation I currently find myself in.
