Uber doesn't care about it's customers, only it's profits.
Uber Eats in Cape Town has literally no concern whatsoever for the quality of it's service. I recently had a terrible meal experience where the food was actually inedible (and I'm not a fussy eater or have unrealistic expectations). Whilst i understand this si the fault of the restaurant and not necessarily UberEats, my transaction is with them and it is much more expensive to order from them than it is from Mr Delivery as they charge the restaurants a ridiculous fee. My complaint was ignored and they tried to shut me up by offering me R6 compensation for a R300 order that went in the bin. Responses to emails were standard paragraphs that didn't answer the query. Mr Delivery from now on, they're not perfect but they're significantly cheaper, the service is better and at least my money is going to a tax paying South African company and not Silicon Valley.
