*********** service

I took a whole 24hrs to calm down before writing this. To say I was livid is an understatement. Yesterday 19/11/2024 I ordered food from UberEats. I have absolutely no problem with the restaurant and will therefore not mention them because this is not their fault. Upon ordering the driver collected my order and went to camp at Protea Glen Mall, he was there for close to 15minutes without movement, tried to call him but his phone took me straight to voicemail. As usual support team on UberEats app are not helpful at all and when you request to cancel the order they tell you that you gonna get billed. Okay then I waited and eventually he arrived. Mind you when I ordered I mentioned on the app to the restaurant that the driver must bring change for R200 and I also wrote this to the driver in which he responded ‘ok’. So he arrives and doesn’t have the change, he says he’ll go to the tuck shop around the corner to get change. He leaves the bike with his device strapped to it outside my yard and walks…now I’m standing there like a fool because being the good person I am I wasn’t gonna leave his bike there because there is no telling what will happen. I stood there like a fool with my cold food in my hand waiting for this driver. He came back strolling with an energy drink in his hand without a care in the world that I’m standing outside waiting for him and guarding his stupid bike. I took pictures and screenshots for proof. My food was cold and all over the place. This is not the first time an uber eats driver is *********** and when you report it you seldom get assistance. At another point I paid cash to the driver and was still billed because I suppose he took the money for himself and got to the restaurant and said I didn’t pay him. Camera footage is available at my workplace proving that I paid him. But again reporting this was useless because nothing was done. *********** bunch of drivers who seem to be protected by this so called company. I’m mad as hell.
