POOR SERVICE INDEED
On the 26th, I placed an order on Uber Eats for Chicken Licken, amounting to R140. The driver, Petter Tetteh, told me he had arrived at around 12:17. I told him I was coming and that I was outside. I asked him where he was and walked to the robots. He said he was at Rennie’s House, but when I went there, I could not find him.
I waited outside until 12:50. The driver said he had been there twice. I told him multiple times that I was at the Food *****s building and even mentioned I was standing at the robots, wearing black, so he wouldn’t miss me. He did not respond to my last message. Instead, he told me again that he was at Rennie’s House. I told him I would come there.
Even our security tried to radio the other guard to check if the driver was there. I then went to the back of our building, to Rennie’s House, where he claimed he was sitting on his bike with his helmet in his hand. When I arrived, he was not there. Shortly after, I received a message saying my food had been delivered.
I immediately went to Chicken Licken, already past my lunch break. The drivers there tried to assist me and advised me to lodge a complaint. They also explained that if the driver had actually delivered the order, he was supposed to take a photo of where it was left. I received no photo.
When I used the help option on Uber Eats, they advised they could not refund me because the driver attempted to contact me but could not reach me. This is incorrect, as I had been communicating with him the entire time, telling him exactly where I was and what I was wearing. He could not have missed me, but he failed to deliver my order.
Uber Eats also stated that the meal was cancelled because the driver could not reach me. However, on my side, the order showed as delivered, not cancelled. I have a screenshot showing this.
This is unacceptable service. I cannot be expected to pay for something I did not receive. I am requesting a full refund.
