On the 28th of March I order food worth R555 and still tipped the driver. As a delivery note I had instructions stating that he needs to check the address properly and make sure that the unit number is correct as the app does not allow for the unit number. So, I got a automated call that tried to connect me to the driver but he did not answer twice, he sent me a messages saying he is outside, I asked if he did not read the delivery note as the instructions were there - no reply. I even sent him messages telling him to driver further up the road and I will meet him on the road, I went outside a few times ( not to mention the streets of JHB are very dangerous) no driver in site. He just stopped replying to me. I complained to Uber and all I got was that if the driver can't get hold of you they leave the order in a secure place which they usually do and thank you for understanding - No, I am not understanding and I want my money back... I mean excuse me!!!! The driver just left R555 worth of food somewhere, he didn't even have the decency to sent me a message saying he was leaving it. If he had I would have gotten into my car and collected it which would have just defeated the purpose of ordering food in the 1st place. Which I ended up doing because that was my family's supper which I had to drive out and go and re-buy. I'm appalled by the response I got from Uber eats, and I rep**** to their mail but obviously I did not get a response. I spent alot of money on that food just to be discarded, maybe they should stop hiring *********** drivers because if he had read the delivery note the would have gotten it right as have the Uber delivery's I have ordered before . I have used Mr delivery often and never had this problem. Infact if the driver can't get hold of you or if there are problems they call you directly to discuss.
I will never use Uber eats again, I feel the the service from the driver and from Uber Eats has been pathetic to say the least. I want my money back!!!!
