I’ve had many successful deliveries to my office through Uber Eats, but this recent experience was a big letdown. I ordered food to be delivered to the Drakenstein Municipality building, which has clear security procedures for deliveries. The instructions were simple: the driver needed to go inside, check in with security, and bring the food to our office door. This has worked perfectly at least eight times before.
This time, though, the driver never made it inside. Security never saw him, and no delivery ever reached us. Instead, I found a photo of my food left on the curb by the parking lot, nowhere near where it was supposed to be. The driver only tried to call me once, and the call didn't even connect properly.
When I reached out to support, I was met with automated responses that didn't address the issue. It felt like there was no human involvement, and the case was closed without any resolution or refund.
It's not just about the missing food—it's about the lack of proper customer support. I really hope Uber Eats can improve their process by ensuring that there's a way to escalate issues to a real person who can understand and address them. A little human touch would make a huge difference!
