BE CAREFUL WITH UBEREATS. RATHER PAY IN CASH.

21 November 2023 I placed an order with Spar via UberEats. They then cancelled the order. However, UberEats continued to deduct R141.75 of my bank account for the order I placed, regardless of the fact that they cancelled the order. I went to the bank the following day, and the consultant informed me that this happens to many clients, whereby UberEats will just deduct money of your account. Therefore it's advised not to link your bank account to UberEats and to rather pay in cash.

I have requested UberEats for a refund, because they cancelled the order. They refused to refund me, and said it's too late to be refunded I should have complained within 48hours.

Even when ordering a ride, if the driver cancel, they will still take a R10 of your bank account.

Therefore it's very important not to link your bank card to Uber. Rather pay in cash.
