Tymebank **********!!!! ?
On the 30 July 2021, I received an SMS from Tymebank saying that suspicious activity was detected on my account and it has been blocked for my protection. I thereafter try to log into my profile and it is blocked so I immediately phone Tymebank. After explaining the sms, the consultant tells me that my profile is blocked and the reason being as the transactions were not normally my transactional behaviour. Goes on to inform me that airtime had been purchased on my account to the value of R2000 and that ******** tried to purchase stuff ranging from R3000 upwards. And the bank noticed it wasn't normal transactions so they blocked my account hence the sms received from them. The consultant did confirm that the money was still in my account because they blocked it before it could transfer out. I was given a case number and told that the ***** department will contact me. Three days later, I phone to find out how it's going as I haven't heard anything back. They tell me that the ***** department is investigating and will contact me. They have thus far ascertained that a Samsung device was used to gain access to my account. I have a different brand of cellphone, Xiaomi. Again I am reassured that the money has not left my account but it's still blocked as it's still under investigation. Timeframe is 7 working days. This week Tuesday, 10 August 2021, I call again and wait so long on hold my airtime finishes. Eventually when I do get a hold of a consultant, I explain and he informs me that the money did leave my account. And not from my Everyday account which still has R3342, money that was put aside in my Goalsave, R11000. They tell me that the ***** department will contact me. A few minutes later I receive an email, ***** Liability Letter, from Tymebank ***** department telling me that they have concluded their investigation and they find no wrong doing on the bank's part and that the transactions were either performed by me or persons known to me. What BS!!! I am not stupid, illiterate or uneducated to go around giving out my personal banking details. And another thing, they left the R3342 in my Everyday account and went after the R11000 in my Goalsave. Tymebank cannot tell me where my money was withdrawn, which ATM or Pick n Pay or Boxer store, who received the OTP pins when the transactions were being verified as NOTHING came to my cellphone. And their Liability Letter states that I requested my account to be blocked, when I only phoned them after receiving the sms that my account has been blocked. I don't know what kind of investigation they conducted. Tymebank doesn't care about their clients hard earned money being ******!!! No assistance from them. Makes one wonder if it is an inside job.

You have already sent me a ***** Liability Letter with which I do not accept and am not happy with . You already know the details of which I provided above. Not one of your consultants or your ***** department can explain and tell me where my money was withdrawn - which area or town, which ATM / Pick n Pay / Boxer store, who did the OTP pins go to when the transactions were being verified because I never received any OTP pins so who exactly verified these transactions to go through. Who was the airtime purchased for ? Surely those persons have rica'ed simcards, your ***** department would have been able to locate the perpetrators. How was it so easy for somebody to access my account and how is it possible for them to only access my Goalsave Funds and not the Everyday account! I am fed up with your excuses and shifting the blame to the client being me in this instance. I am a very cautious and vigilant person in general and especially with banking, as I have worked in the bank, contrary to your presumptions from your ***** Liability Letter in which you shift blame to me. It took me a while to save that R11000, why would I be so stupid to give out banking details to all and sundry. Only a mental person would do something so dumb!
