TymeBank ***** department unresponsive

It is unfortunate that I have to write up this complaint.

Over the past festive season, I was tied up, ****** and dumped in a bush in the south of JHB. After the ordeal, I was able to contact both TymeBank and FNB to freeze my cards and accounts, which they duly did.

The police were able to arrest 3 of 5 suspects, and my phone and cards were recovered. This was very traumatic for me, and my experience with TymeBank and FNB have only made this worse.

I am the sole income in a house of 4. My accounts were frozen, and when trying to unfreeze them I was told that my FNB account cannot be unfrozen, as Tymebank needs to withdraw their ***** case in order for my FNB account to be unfrozen.

I have sent numerous emails to both FNB and Tyme. The automated email response says that feedback should be expected after one day. It is now 4 working days that have passed, with no response.

This is a dire time for my family and I, because most if not all my salary was taken during the *******. I would like to access the little money I have.

This entire situation has extended my trauma. Phone calls to the ***** department of Tymebank go unanswered for longer than 15minutes, only for the call to be terminated. This was a waste of the very little money I had, to buy airtime , which turned out to be a waste of time.

I am a very vocal proponent of Tymebank - I receive my salary in this account. I love the user friendliness of the app, and overall service. This makes it difficult to write this complaint, but I am now exploring opening accounts with competitors of Tyme and FNB.
