TymeBank cannot issue debit card - don't expect any help either

I am quite poor at the moment, so I found TymeBank's offer of low fee banking to be compelling.

Unfortunately after a month. and five emails from me to the bank, I still do not have my debit card.

If you have the misfortune of banking with TymeBank, this is the kind of delightful email exchange you can look forward to: From: me Date: Wednesday, June 19, 2024 09:55 AM To: service <***> Subject: URGENT - Continuous series of failures in trying to obtain my debit card - me -

Greetings,

I am absolutely LIVID at this point. I would like you to imagine this email with lots of ANGRY CAPITALIZATIONS and SWEAR WORDS. I know these things would obscure my meaning and make my request harder to handle, so I will refrain from using them, but I need Tyme Bank to know that I am a very unhappy new client right now.

I opened a new account with you a few weeks ago, and as I have now received the first deposit into my new account, I have been trying to track down one of your kiosks that is actually present where it is supposed to be as well as capable of issuing a debit card.

I have now made four trips, visited six locations and interacted with three actual kiosks and I still do not have my debit card.

When I visited the Ferndale PicknPay on Friday I was told to try the one in Cresta.

On Sunday the Cresta PicknPay told me they no longer have a kiosk, but I could try either Jet or Markhams in Cresta.

At the Cresta Jet store there was actually a kiosk, but after scanning my fingerprints it showed an error message claiming technical problems with the kiosk (See first attachment).

I then went to Markams Cresta, to see if their machine was happier, but they told me that they no longer had a Tyme Bank Kiosk.

On Monday I went to PnP at Randridge Mall, found the kiosk, but received an error message at the point when my debit card was about to be issued (see second attachment).

The same thing happened to me on Monday afternoon at PnP Randburg Square (see third attachment).

The deposit that was made is not a large one, but I do not have a lot of money right now. I have made a number of commitments based on the anticipation of this deposit and I am now unable to meet them, not due to any fault of my own, but because Tyme Bank's kiosk system clearly does not work as advertised.

My urgent request is this - where can I go to actually receive my promised debit card, without any further procedural or technical hiccups?

Regards

Greetings,

the email below refers.

I would like to note that I have heard ABSOLUTELY NOTHING from your technical department regarding the problems I am having with receiving my debit card.

Given the urgency of my original email this is completely unacceptable.

Could you please provide me with the name and contact details of someone to whom I can escalate this problem.

Please do not provide me with your call centre number, because if Tyme bank is not responsive to emails then it will not be responsive to call centre requests either.

Good day,

Thank you for contacting TymeBank. We sincerely apologize for all inconveniences you have experienced with our kiosk. Your query has been escalated to our technical department for them to assist and provide a kiosk that is operational. In the meantime, you may use the cardless withdrawal using cell phone banking or the mobile app. To do a TymeCode withdrawal, kindly follow the instructions.

1. Use your Cell phone/ SmartApp to login to your TymeBank account when you at a Pick 'n Pay or Boxer Store. 2. Go to "Menu". 3. Choose "Cash". 4. Then select "Cash Withdrawal/ Cash Deposit". 5. Enter How much money you need/ deposit and then tap "Get TymeCode". 6. You'll have 30 minutes to show that code to the Cashier to draw/ deposit your cash.

The insipid stupidity behind this response is actually mind blowing.

I am certain that the person who wrote this response has not read my email. I am not certain if the person can read.

The fact that Tyme bank thinks that I could not find the location of the kiosks is a severe insult to my intelligence (such as it is).

As I asked for in my previous email, I would like to have the telephone number of the manager of this section, because it is severely dysfunctional and said manager needs to be informed about that.

So - one last time - I am asking politely for the telephone number of the relevant manager.

Greetings,

I decided overnight that the response I sent to this email was too measured and considerate, so I'd like to offer the revision below.

I also want to point out that in my initial email I made it clear that I am at the point where I want to use angry capitalized swear words, but that I was refraining from doing so for the sake of politeness and efficiency.

Seeing that I still do not have my debit card, the polite approach is clearly not working when interacting with Tyme bank so sadly I now have to be a lot cruder and ruder.

...

TO THE PERSON WHO SENT ME THE ****ING URL OF THE YOUR ****ING KIOSK LOCATION PAGE ON THE ****ING TYME BANK WEBSITE:

HOW ****ING STUPID DO YOU THINK I AM !??!?!?!?

IF YOU READ MY INITIAL EMAIL YOU WILL SEE THAT MY PROBLEMS ARE: A - THE ****ING KIOSKS ARE NOT WHERE YOUR ****ING WEBSITE SAYS THEY ARE B - IF THERE IS AN ACTUAL ****ING MACHINE IT THROWS AN ERROR BEFORE ISSUING THE CARD

DO YOU REALLY THINK I FOUND THE SIX KIOSK LOCATIONS I WROTE OF BY WANDERING AROUND LONELY AS A CLOUD? OF COURSE I USED THE WEBSITE TO FIND THE KIOSKS, BUT THE INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE IS NOT ACCURATE!! NO AMOUNT OF SENDING THE ****ING URL AROUND IS GOING TO CHANGE THAT !!

THERE ARE THREE POSSIBILITIES THAT EXPLAINS YOUR BEHAVIOUR: A - YOU ARE TOO ****ING LAZY TO READ MY EMAIL B - YOU ARE TOO ****ING STUPID TO READ MY EMAIL C - BOTH OF THE ABOVE

YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN A POSITION WHERE YOU ARE IN CONTACT WITH MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO LAZY AND TOO STUPID!

...

TO THE MANAGER OF THE CON******* CRETIN WHO SENT ME THE KIOSK LOCATION URL:

You have the wrong people working for you, they are poorly trained and inadequately supervised.

I have now been trying for two weeks to get someone at Tyme bank to take my debit-card-kiosk problem seriously.

When I wait for an intelligent response I get ignored and when I try to escalate I get the idiotic response that I am replying to here.

Please escalate my kiosk problem to a level where someone has the intelligence, the ability and the authority to actually solve the issue.

Regards

me
