Re: Disputed ***** Case – Funds *****ulently Withdrawn (R1 497.00 on 21 October 2025)

I am writing to formally dispute and request a review of my ***** case which was recently declined.

On 21 October 2025, while I was at home ill and bedridden with a fever, I received several SMS alerts from TymeBank Anti-***** notifying me of internet banking activity on my account. Within a few minutes, R1 497.00 was transferred from my savings account to a business account via an “interactant transfer” and “instant money” transaction.

I did not authorise these transactions. At the time: • I did not have the TymeBank App installed on my phone. • I had not used the account for over two months. • I did not receive any OTPs authorising transactions on the day. • I was not logged in to online banking and had no access activity. I contacted the Contact Centre the next day, and my App access was blocked while a ***** case was opened. However, a few days later, I received an SMS stating that my case was declined, with the reasoning that I had “compromised my information.”

This conclusion is not reasonable, given the facts: 1. The transactions occurred without any OTPs received on my registered number. 2. I had no App access or login activity at the time of the incident. 3. The only notification I received was from your Anti-***** alerts, not OTPs or confirmations.

I request: 1. A formal written explanation of how this conclusion was reached. 2. Evidence of login/IP details and device IDs used for the *****ulent activity. 3. A review and reopening of my case. 4. Guidance on how to escalate this to the Ombudsman for Banking Services, should the matter remain unresolved. As a customer, I have taken every precaution with my account. I trusted TymeBank with my savings, and I am deeply disappointed to find that I have been left liable for unauthorised activity beyond my control.
