Pathetic service

How difficult is it to process a request to close a credit card account. I requested this on Tuesday after paying the settlement amount the previous week. I was told the request to close the account will be processed within 48 hours. I made follow ups on Thursday and Friday, i was promised the request will be processed. Its now 4 days(its now 96 hours). The account is still open. WHY? BECAUSE YOUR service is honestly pathetic, please just close the damn credit card account and send proof thereof.
