**** OF A BANK. STAY AWAY!

I am writing this review on my mother's behalf who is elderly and not tech literate. If there was a way to leave a negative rating on this **** of a bank I would! My mother opened an account after she retired to use for her savings. About a month ago an unauthorized sim swap was done on her vodacom number. Upon realizing that her number had been hacked and hijacked, she checked all her bank accounts and she discovered that all funds from her TymeBank account were withdrawn. Almost R26 000,00 was gone just like that. She alsp saw that there were multiple transactions on her Standard Bank credit card. Upon realizing what had happened she notified both institutions. She was advised to open a case and submit supporting documents which she did. She was advised that she would get feedback after 7 working days. Standard bank did their investigation and subsequently refunded her. TymeBank took their sweet time and they did not get back to her. She was calling every week and she was told different stories. Today she called to follow up and she was advised that they are closing their case and they will not be refunding her. They said it was her fault that the funds were withdrawn because an otp would have been sent to her cellphone number. She tried explaining that a sim swap was done on her cellphone amd and she did not authorize any payments. A letter from vodacom confirming the unauthorized sim swap was provided to TymeBank but they insist that this was all my mother's fault. I am getting my attorneys involved because you cannot **** an old lady her hard-earned pension money and think you can get away with it. If you have an account with TymeBank I suggest you close it ASAP. I have already told all of my close friends, colleagues and relatives to close their accounts and even that is mission with this ****** bank! Refund my mother's money!!!!
