Failed ATM Cash Withdrawal and Inconsistent Investigation Timelines

On 3 June 2026 at approximately 18:12, I attempted to withdraw R1,000 from a Standard Bank ATM in Umhlanga using my GoTyme Bank card, but the ATM experienced a dispense failure and no cash was issued, despite the funds being debited from my account. I immediately reported the incident and was initially advised that I would receive an update by 10 June 2026, but I have since received another communication extending the update date to 15 July 2026 without explanation. Given that the ATM records and CCTV footage can confirm that no cash was dispensed, I am requesting an urgent investigation, clarity on the conflicting timelines, and the prompt reversal of my funds.

I am extremely frustrated that I am once again being left waiting for feedback. With the weekend approaching, I know no updates are likely to be provided, which means I will have to wait until next week, and I have little confidence that any meaningful communication regarding my ongoing case will be made.

I am disappointed that my complaint was closed Monday morning despite my dispute remaining unresolved. During a call from a GoTyme Bank complaints representative, I was informed that the matter was still under investigation with Standard Bank, but no clear timeframe for resolution was provided. Looking back, I should not have agreed to close the complaint while I am still waiting for my funds to be returned.

To date, I have received no meaningful update regarding the progress of the investigation, despite providing all the necessary information and evidence showing that the ATM failed to dispense the R1,000 that was debited from my account. The continued delays and uncer*****y are causing me financial hardship, and I do not understand why I am expected to wait until July for a resolution when the ATM records and CCTV footage should be able to confirm that no cash was dispensed.

I am requesting that this matter be reopened, that I receive a detailed update on the status of the investigation, and that my funds be refunded as soon as possible if the evidence supports my claim. Given the inconvenience, stress, and financial difficulties caused by this prolonged delay, I also request that appropriate compensation be considered once the investigation has been concluded.
