Excellent Bank - No fuss, no hassle. Future of banking in RSA

I must say that I am very impressed with the ease with which I was able to open a TymeBank account and start saving towards my “Goalsave”. Herewith my experience:

1) I was able to register and open my account online within 5 minutes. Absolutely no hassle. My limits were set at R20 000.

2) The next day I went to PnP and used their ATM to capture my biometrics, confirm my address and get my debit card. I had no help from a consultant and was able to follow the straightforward instructions with ease. Everything was done within 5 minutes. In addition, within a few hours my limits were increase to the maximum amounts i.e. “Old Friends”.

3) On the same day, I transferred money from Standard Bank into my Tyme account. The funds reflected the next day and I was able to transfer the amount into my ‘Goalsave” within seconds.

So far this has truly been the best experience I've had with any bank in South Africa. This is the future of banking and will undoubtedly benefit all of us and give the big banks some major competition in the long run. Many countries, such as Estonia, have already been using this type of banking platform for many years with great success. I am glad (and very excited) to see that we are also moving in this digital banking direction.
