DISGUSTING TELEPHONIC CUSTOMER CARE EXPERIENCE
I am so disgusted at the telephone etiquette of TymeBank staff.
I am doing a product test for an international client so I tried to set up an account. It gave me an issue and when I retried it said my ID had been used too many times in set up even though I had only tried once. Long story short, I call customer care and ask the lady how to fix it online. Besides the utter impolite, rude, sarcastic tone and insulting questions, she is unable to help me. Without giving away that it is for a client review (because it is not her business) she yells at me to say that she cannot set up the account for me (I did not ask her to). I remind her that I am a client calling customer care and this is not how one speaks to a customer. She tells me but I am calling for assistance and she is not giving me any. She tells me so what must she do; if I cannot do it online then I must come in-store. I explain to her that TymeBank has international clients who do not all reside in South Africa and who cannot just pop into a PnP to set up an account. The service offering includes online setup, and so it should work. Bear in mind I am testing the banking services for an international client who would most definitely not be able to come in-store for this. She tells me I am setting up an account for another person and rudely insists on knowing what is physically wrong with me to be unable to come in store to set one up. I ended the call by telling her that this was a review for her employer which it technically is through my client, and that she has proved so much in her call as to why South African start-ups cannot compete on an international level. I have never ever felt that customer service was so bad so as to report it in anyway, and this experience is the very reason for me setting up a Hello Peter account in the first place. I made this call about 10 minutes ago and I expect management to do something about this disgusting behaviour. Train your staff to have solutions and telephone etiquette, especially if they are to be placed in customer services!
To sum, I cannot possibly recommend that my client use this online platform for their business in SA. It is a disgrace to SA and it would be a poor recommendation for me to somehow encourage it.
