Bolt vouchers from Tymebank
TymeBank – Extremely disappointing experience with Bolt vouchers
I am extremely disappointed with TymeBank and the way my complaint has been handled. I honestly feel that I was misled into purchasing a Bolt voucher through TymeBank.
On 11 August, I purchased a R200 Bolt voucher through TymeBank. When I tried to use the voucher, it repeatedly showed as invalid . I contacted Bolt directly to verify the issue, and I was informed that they do not have such vouchers.
I immediately contacted TymeBank and reported the problem. I was told that my complaint would be resolved within 3 days. Three days passed without any resolution. I then gave them additional time and contacted them again about a week later. I was told that the matter had been escalated and that I would receive feedback.
It has now been a month, and I have still received no feedback, no resolution, and no refund*.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I specifically purchased the voucher because I thought it would be a convenient way to pay for my transport instead of having the amount deducted directly from my bank account. I even spent money on transport to go and sort this matter out, only to be left with a voucher that does not work and a bank that has failed to resolve my complaint.
This experience has seriously damaged my trust in TymeBank. Customers should not be sold vouchers that do not work, and when a customer raises a legitimate complaint, they deserve a proper response and resolution.
TymeBank, I want my R200 refunded and a clear explanation as to how this voucher was sold to me if Bolt has confirmed that they do not have such vouchers.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
We apologize for the experience this has caused. Please note that we are investigating the issue and will reach out to you shortly.

This is extremely frustrating.
I bought the voucher through the TymeBank app – not from One Voucher. If I wanted to purchase a One Voucher, I could have gone to a store or dealt with One Voucher directly. I purchased what was presented to me as a Bolt voucher through my bank's app.
How is it reasonable for TymeBank to take my money through their banking app and then, when the voucher does not work, simply tell me that I must go and deal with another company?
I have already wasted my time and money trying to resolve this matter. I now have a R200 voucher that does not work, Bolt has told me they do not have such vouchers, and TymeBank has effectively told me that I must sort it out myself with a third party.
If TymeBank chooses to offer third-party products through its banking app, I believe there should be accountability when those products do not work. At the very least, I expected TymeBank to assist me in resolving the issue instead of simply passing me on to another company.
I want my R200 back, or I want a valid R200 Bolt voucher/PIN that actually works.
I hope TymeBank can explain why this voucher was sold through its app, why Bolt says it does not have such vouchers, and why I am now expected to resolve the matter with a third party after purchasing the voucher through TymeBank.
