Unconstitutional premium increase
I am Ntombenhle Nkosi policy no Tu*****5 and Nonhle Nkosi TU 136605 and I don’t have the other 2 family members numbers . We joined two Mountains’s on 11/1-2022 and the premium was at R 280 for me and my family of 10 . In 2013 January I have received an sms saying I have short paid the January 2023 payment Z I have been calling Two mountains and holding for hours on end not getting any answers what the increase was. I decided to continue paying and increased my premium to R300 at least expecting an escalation as it’s a new year . I have been paying R 300 since February until now in August. I have recent received an sms saying my policy will be terminated due to short payment. I was made aware by a relative who is also on Two mountains that I should drop them a WhatsApp , which I did . They then called me back and advise me that my premium has been increased from R 280 in 2022 to R1480 in 2023 January for the same benefits . I have never heard of such an escalation in my life . They say they have the right to reshuffle and adjust the premium as they wish and they do not refund the instalments if you cancel . I did not budget for that premium even the banks don’t cover funeral covers at that rate. They have me a take it or leave answer . What went wrong with Two Mountains’s we are 5 siblings and we all joined our separate families with spouses . We are all different policy holders and we are all going to ambudsman and going to demand our premiers and terminate our services as this is unprofessional . They do not want to meet us halfway.
