Disappointing experience at Menlyn Maine

Good day I met my friend for lunch on Saturday afternoon 5th October, at Menlyn Maine, we both felt like steak or ribs and therefore decided to have lunch at Turn and Tender. I was very disappointed indeed. I ordered the rib and spring chicken combo; my friend had the fillet. The very long wait would have been annoying if we were in a hurry (the restaurant was empty with approximately 10 people sitting outside and even less inside), but luckily, we were not in a hurry. When the food arrived, my beef ribs were tasteless and ice cold, and the chicken was very dry and very over-cooked with a burnt flavor. My lady friend indicated that her fillet was ok. I didn’t feel like explaining to the waiter or calling the manager, as I really did not feel like that type of conversation especially while my lady friend was there, and it would have spoilt the otherwise good mood. I was really so disappointed in Turn and Tender, as I assumed it was a cut above the "normal" steak houses such as the Spur (I think we would have received better value for money at the Spur unfortunately). Besides an amazing atmosphere at the Menlyn Maine Square on Saturday afternoon, the food at Turn and Tender was unfortunately extremely disappointing. Best regards Roland
