Unallocated Application Payments and Lack of Feedback
I am writing as a concerned parent regarding my daughter's application to Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) for the Law Legal Support programme My daughter submitted her application on 1 April 2026 and was instructed to pay the administration/application fee. On 3 April 2026, I paid R240 as required. However, when she checked her portal, the payment was not reflected. She attached and submitted the proof of payment (POP), but the issue was not resolved. After several follow-ups and receiving no assistance, I was forced to make a second payment of R240 in May 2026. To date, the portal still has not been updated accordingly. My daughter has sent multiple emails requesting assistance and clarification, but she has received little to no response. She has even attempted to escalate the matter by contacting the Dean's office. As an unemployed parent, this situation is extremely frustrating. I have paid money that appears to have disappeared without explanation, and we still do not know the status of my daughter's application. It is unreasonable to expect applicants and parents to incur additional transport costs travelling from Vosloorus to Pretoria simply to submit proof of payment when electronic communication systems are available.
I respectfully request:
Immediate investigation of both payments made (R240 on 3 April 2026 and R240 in May 2026).
Confirmation that the payments have been received and correctly allocated to my daughter's application.
An update on the status of her application.
A refund of any duplicate payment if both payments were received.
Improved communication regarding this matter.
I trust that TUT will treat this complaint with urgency and provide a prompt resolution.
